OXO’s latest version of its dish sponge builds on a familiar concept with a few key upgrades. The lower-positioned soap button is more ergonomically placed, making it easier to dispense soap without tilting the wand excessively. The non-slip grip works well even when wet, and the compact handle design offers better maneuverability in tighter dishware like glasses and bowls.

Its cellulose sponge is soft enough for non-stick cookware and gentle surfaces, while the integrated scraper is a helpful addition for baked-on messes. However, some drawbacks persist. Reports indicate inconsistent soap dispensing - some users find it efficient, others struggle with soap flow or leaking issues.  Durability is also hit-or-miss: while the handle itself feels sturdy to many, there are complaints about the button mechanism failing over time and the sponge head detaching prematurely.

Compatibility may also be an issue for long-time OXO users, as the newer sponge heads may not fit previous handles, and the wider grip doesn’t align with older holders. 

Still, for a modestly priced kitchen tool, it delivers reasonable performance, especially when used with matching accessories.
